The Withee Public Library prides itself on its dedication to the Withee community in the past, present, and future, and the library has just completed an exciting project that will serve the community by preserving the past for use in both the present and the future.
The Withee Public Library will be hosting an Open House to unveil the completed newspaper conversion database and make it available for public use on Saturday, December 3rd from 10 am – 2 pm. The Withee Library has updated their collection of bound paper copies of our community newspaper going back decades by converting the newspapers to searchable digital copies available on the computer.
These searchable digital copies will be invaluable to local historians, genealogists, or anyone interested in the history of their family or the community. The funds for this ambitious project were raised by the library through a number of donations and grants, from members of the community, supporters of the library, and area businesses. We are exceedingly grateful to all of our generous donors and for the community support for this exciting preservation project.
From November 28th to December 3rd, the Withee Public Library will also be hosting a special holiday book sale. Stop by the library to find gently used books at a spectacularly low price! There are a number of fiction and nonfiction books, as well as a large selection of crafting and cooking books. All funds from the book sale go to the library’s book budget to purchase new books and bestsellers for library patrons.
If you have any questions, please stop by the library or call us at 715-229-2010. We look forward to seeing you at the library!
