Withee Days are approaching fast and the Library is ready to celebrate!
“The Hillbilly Silly Science Spectacular” will be performed at 5 PM on Friday, June 15th in the Alfa Holm Pavilion in the Lion’s Park near the pharmacy. Laugh, learn, and be entertained by Dr. Cletus Beaker, MD! Audiences of all ages can enjoy this show which is free and open to the public.
On Saturday, June 16th, the Library will be putting on a “Withee History Escape Room” at 10AM and again at 2:30 PM. While this event is free and open to the public, participants will need to be old enough to read and reason through the clues which will guide the participants through this grand scale puzzle game.
The Library will also be having a Mannequin Challenge at 1PM on June 16th. Come to help us make a fun video which will be posted on our Facebook page and YouTube channel that may help you learn something about the library. Everyone is welcome!
Meet the Author
Joanne Olszewski, the co-author of the 35th Anniversary Edition of Worms Eat My Garbage, will be at the library on June 16th from 10AM to 5PM to sell and sign copies of the book. This book details the benefits of vermicomposting at home. Over the last 35 years, this guide sold over 200,000 copies in four languages. The book covers the basics for setting up a composting system using worms. It teaches people how to use worms to recycle food wastes into nutrient-rich fertilizer for houseplants or gardens.
The library’s annual used book sale will be held on June 12th, 14th, 15th, and 16th. This is our largest sale of the year! Stop by to brows through the selection of adult and childrens’ books.
Tootsie Roll Booth
Library Board trustees and volunteers will host the Tootsie Roll Booth, a Withee Days tradition. Everyone gets candy, and a few who play will win prizes! Area businesses and residents have worked with the board to donate funds and prizes towards this event. Thank you to everyone who contributed to make this event possible!
Displays in the Library
Memorabilia and Withee History exhibits are now on display in the library. Come celebrate our local history during this 2018 Withee Days!
